The Last Knit (short movie analyzing 2)

Here is my second review for my movie analyzed homework. This is a short CGI movie called 'The Last Knit' by Laura Neuvonen from Finland. In this short movie is about a woman who loves to Knit, to a point that it nearly kills her. The woman never talks in the movie, so the stroy is moved along by the music and sound effects. This creates a very creative movie. At the begining of the movie the music is very calm and adds mystery to the scene. The music makes up for the lack of talking and helpssound effects sound better and more interesting. The scene that leads to the opening titles is smoothly put together by the music and the simple 'fade out' effect.

The CGI in this movie is outstanding for just one person to make. The fabric and hair are very well detailed and almost looks realastic. The movie is very bright and colourful, which adds to the comedy theme of this movie. The colours are very well mixed together and don't contrast agaisnt each other. The woman's red scarf really makes it stand out and makes you look at it sight away. Also red is a sign colour of danger, which it is aporpetit to the movie because the scarf causes a lot of trouble in the movie. The movie structure is well balanced out.

This is very surreal movie where there are alot of problems with the scarf. The story is very clear and you can understand what is going on at the begining of the movie.
It has some very unexpected twists to this movie, which makes the movie fresh and you understand the character better. Just like in the first movie I looked at the frame rate movement, which goes faster where there is danger or quick actions of the woman. Also it does the close up to the face when she is thinking of what to do next, so you can tell what she is going to do next aswell.

Overall I think this is a great movie and the creator really thought the story out well. It's one of those movies you would watch again and again. You can watch it here.
