My most prized possession

This is my prized possession. His name is Scampi and I have had him since I was 7 years old (or longer, I can't really remember). He stays at next to me on the top of my bed, beside my pillow. He means a lot to me becuase I named him after our first dog called Scampi. He was a Old English Sheepdog. He had to have him put down because of cancer. I couldn't stop crying that day, I was going to miss him so much. So thats when I named my soft dog Scampi.

You can tell he is starting to wear down abit because his white fur as got dirty and Im to afraid to but him in the washing machine becuase I think it will damn him. One of the black laces has come off and he has a hole in the back of his neck. I can still remember the day when I told my mum I am going to sow the hole shut, but never got around to doing so. But other then that he is still in good condition and I like he will be to the day I die.

Gopher Broke (short movie analyzing 3)

This is my final movie analyzing. This is about a Gopher who is trying really hard to earn some food to eat from the trucks that drive by. But overtime he manages to get some food, other animals steal the food away and he starts to lose his temper.

This is a CGI movie called 'Gopher Broke' by Blur studios. In this short movie the character does talk, but you can't understand what he is saying because his language is different to the human language. The story is moved along by the gophers atticts in the movie. This is really a great example of a focus structure. You also really get to understand how the character is feeling and makes you want it to suceed in getting the food, but you also think he is abit of a idiot and have to laugh at his misfoutune. The music is a kind of music you would find in a cartoon, which makes you know right awat that this is going to be funny. The country style music keeps in theme with the scene design of the movie.

The scene of the movie in based in the country side where farmers grow their corps. The country theme is kept alive by the bright colours and the colours don't contrast agaisnt each other. The colours are nice and calming, which surpised me that it worke well with the Gopher being all hecktic and stuff. All so the colours have a cartoon feel to it because the animation has cartoon style characters, which bring the colours more to life, I think. The detail in this movie is outstanding. The fur looks so realistic and the backgrounds look all most real, but with a goofy twist. The movie does have a few twists in it, but you can tell that it is coming, but you can't tell what it is that is coming.

The movie isn't confusing, which is great in my opion, I hate confusing movies like and . The frame rate movementis the same as I saw in the other two movies, which is the frame rate is fast in the action parts and the close up of the characters faces to studing the situation. Overall I think this is a great movie to look at. It is very funny and makes you want to watch it again and again.

The Last Knit (short movie analyzing 2)

Here is my second review for my movie analyzed homework. This is a short CGI movie called 'The Last Knit' by Laura Neuvonen from Finland. In this short movie is about a woman who loves to Knit, to a point that it nearly kills her. The woman never talks in the movie, so the stroy is moved along by the music and sound effects. This creates a very creative movie. At the begining of the movie the music is very calm and adds mystery to the scene. The music makes up for the lack of talking and helpssound effects sound better and more interesting. The scene that leads to the opening titles is smoothly put together by the music and the simple 'fade out' effect.

The CGI in this movie is outstanding for just one person to make. The fabric and hair are very well detailed and almost looks realastic. The movie is very bright and colourful, which adds to the comedy theme of this movie. The colours are very well mixed together and don't contrast agaisnt each other. The woman's red scarf really makes it stand out and makes you look at it sight away. Also red is a sign colour of danger, which it is aporpetit to the movie because the scarf causes a lot of trouble in the movie. The movie structure is well balanced out.

This is very surreal movie where there are alot of problems with the scarf. The story is very clear and you can understand what is going on at the begining of the movie.
It has some very unexpected twists to this movie, which makes the movie fresh and you understand the character better. Just like in the first movie I looked at the frame rate movement, which goes faster where there is danger or quick actions of the woman. Also it does the close up to the face when she is thinking of what to do next, so you can tell what she is going to do next aswell.

Overall I think this is a great movie and the creator really thought the story out well. It's one of those movies you would watch again and again. You can watch it here.

Ryan Vs Dorkman (short movie analyzing)

Hi this is my first post on this website and I wanted to show you a film I have chosen to study for my film project at University. I watched the film and analyzed, so I can get better understanding on how to create a well balanced story.

This short 5 minute movie is called " Ryan Vs Dorkman" and took two special effect artists and other members to create this movie in 5 months, which they spent 4 months on the special effects. This is a simple conflict story structure about who is the best lightsaber fighter. I think the place they chose to film the scene creates a great atmosphere and it keeps in theme of the Stars Wars future style machines. This shows they have done their research in to the movies and know how to film the movie with the right angles of the camera and frame rate.

This film kind of has a well balanced story structure, but the only thing wrong here is "who are the characters?". We only get the basic of the characters and that is that they are fighting to prove who is the better fighter, but we don't know their names or their background story that leads to the conflict. Plus who is the good or bad guy in this movie, which makes it hard for me to choose who to cheer for in this fight.

The skip from frame to frame is really fast and during the fighting scenes, especially at the parts where the lightsabers connect.

The frame rate is slowed down where one of them backs off for a moment to stare and the situation and think about 'what is he going to do next?'. When they do this, the camera is moved closer to the faces, so you can see the reactions and to know what they are feeling at the moment, which is a great idea for the sequence. This effect is used in the star wars films, and it is also used in other fighting films (e.g. Xmen, Spiderman and The Last samurai).

Overall I think this movie has given me a better insight in to creating a well balanced story and I highly recommned this movie to anyone. You can view it here
