Career choice.

I be honest, we haven't really talked about what jobs you can get with Audio/visual course. But I really want to become a film maker. I want to explore other countries and learn different cultures, and show it to the world. I always been a explorer since I was little, always wanting to try new things. I also would like to film movies as well, work on location and just film what I see, but the down side to this is that the director might not like the scene and I'll have to film it again. Or I would like to edit films. Don't know why to be honest, but I find this relaxing, just sitting in front of the computer and making sure the scenes are not to long or at the wrong angle.

I notice that every movie has it weak points. for e.g.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 had such a confusing story line at the beginning of the movie, but it made up for it at the end when they tie everything up, but I still think you'll have to watch it a second time to fully understand.

Spider man 3: I was hugely disappointed but this movie, the other first two were better then this one. The scenes when Peter was walking down the street acting like a idiot was too long, the only good fight scene in the movie was at the beginning with Peter vs Harry and the movie just ended making you feel like 'ugh!!'. I will not be buying this movie when it comes out.

TMNT the movie: The movie was really good, but there was a few things that I thought they could have done better with. The movie was a little too short, the fight since in the courtyard should have been a little bit longer, some editing scenes was a bit off, like one second Mikey was "aw" to someone, the next scene he was at the other side of the room. The movie was more about Leonardo and Raphael's problems, which left Donatello and Michelangelo abit in the background, April and Casey had more screen time then them. But other then that it was a great movie.

What I'm trying to get at with this, is that I know the do and don't of filming and this Audio/Visual course will help me improve on that.

So for my career I want to become a Film Maker or Editor.

Love of Films

I love watching movies. From the old to the new. I think my Uncle started my love for films when I was very young. Every time I visited, he let me borrow a film from his movie wardrobe (which is the size of bedroom wardrobe and height from ceiling to floor). I think the first movie I borrowed was 'Interview with the Vampire' directed by Neil Jordan and soon became my number one Favourite movie. I also have other favourite movies shown here.

I'm very picky when it comes to watching movies. For me the editing has to be good, background music, details and the most important, the story has to be original. I also like to have a little bit of humour in my movies as well. Some movies like '300' and 'Van Wilder' don't interest me. Here are all the movies we have in the house:

These are all my movies in my room, plus a few Gamecube games.

These are the rest of my movies in the living room.

These are my brother's movies.

Not just movies I'm in to, but also Anime. Animes have this way of taking you to another world and the Japanese are very good at coming up with magical and original stories. Here's a photo of my anime collection:

Photography

I love doing Visual stuff more then audio. I like taking photographs, or at times edit them. Ever since I was little, I have always liked taking photographs. I never took a photo until I think it is right. Later one when I got to college we did Photography as part of the Multimedia course. All the photos we took were black and white. I also got to develop them in a dark room and used the liqiuds (can't remember what they were called) to develop them. Had to be careful thought cause the longer you leave it in the light, the brighter it got and ruins it.

Going to bring these to the presentation.

I also did some in my spare time. Last summer me and my family went to Tycross Zoo and I took a few pictures there. Then I used Photoshop to brighten the photos.

I think photography is liked the filming. Before you start a film, you need to take photos for research.
